In the same way that Internet Explorer® is the most popular web browser, Outlook Express® is the most used email application because it comes included in Microsoft Windows®.
Although other email applications are available the principles learned in this training will apply to most email packages.
We will cover the basics of sending and receiving email messages and also discuss some other topics such as netiquette and spam.

By the end of this training you will be able to recognise and use the basic functions in Word®. You will be able to edit and format text and know how to save and print files.

This training will show you how to use Microsoft Excel®. Excel® is spreadsheet software that allows you to input and manage numerical and other types of data. Excel can do automated calculations and analyses ranging from simple sums to complex mathematical formulas. You can use it for managing your business or simply keep a record of your household bills or a list of the members of your local club.
It can be very time saving once set up properly and with a little training you will soon be able to create spreadsheets that will make your work or home tasks easier, faster and more professional.

This training will show you how to use Microsoft PowerPoint®. You can use this for creating presentations. These can be automated presentations using a laptop, handouts to a normal presentation or OHP’s / Slides.
PowerPoint is also useful as a graphics software. It has many functions not available elsewhere in any Microsoft packages and can be used to create posters, flyers or other image based documents.
This training is not only useful to business people. There may be other times, outside of work when you are asked to make a presentation or speech. A short time spent learning the basics of PowerPoint® can make even the simplest presentation come alive.

This training will show you how use Microsoft Access® a database application. A database is a collection of information which can be used in a variety of ways. You can use the basic information for a number of different tasks and present it in a variety of formats.
Access is a complicated application and this training will give the basic principles which you can build on. A reasonable knowledge of other Microsoft applications would be an advantage.

No, not how to polish your keyboard ! This training shows how to keep your computer running properly, keeping it fully up dated and keeping it free from viruses and other nasties.
Just like a car needs regular servicing to keep it running properly, so does your computer. All you need is a little know-how and this is much easier to gain than you might think. You do not need to be a computer expert nor do you need to spend hours running all sorts of complex programs. Just a short training session and the right software will give you all you need to keep your computer working properly and efficiently.
